SKIRTSAFIRE FESTIVAL | March 8-11, 2018 | International Women

SkirtsAfire Festival is a multidisciplinary arts festival that features the work of women and takes place on Alberta Avenue in conjunction with International Women’s Day, March 8-11, 2018. We produce and present passionate, provocative, moving and entertaining female driven performances, exhibits and workshops.

As we head into our 6th year, we are taking artists’ submissions for our singer-songwriters series, The Key of She. We’re also taking submissions for artists in the A-Line Variety Show and our Late Night Cabaret, which can be single artists or groups of: singers, musicians, bands, dancers, comedy acts, cabaret acts, performance artists, spoken word artists, magicians, acro-yogis… or surprise us with your skills! Single performers must be women. For performance groups, women must be the driving force in the company. The theme for 2018 is International Women.

SkirtsAfire Festival values diversity in the women we represent. We welcome submissions from women artists of all diverse backgrounds including trans women, self-identifying women, all ethnicities and all abilities.

Please send an e-mail of interest telling us what you do and why you’d like to be a part of SkirtsAfire to Annette at skirtsafire@gmail.com.

Please also include:

  • Name of lead artist
  • An explanation of your piece/idea
  • Technical requirements (basic overview), if known
  • Contact information, including website links and social media handles
  • Any additional support material, including a sample of your work (if available)
  • If you are open to collaborating with another artist
  • If you have submitted before or performed in past festivals

Deadline for submissions is July 28, 2017.
