- This is a full-time salaried position including benefits, as per EO’s employee benefit plan, and three weeks of paid vacation time.

Employment:
- Manager level position working under the Production & Technical Director.
- Approx. 40 hours per week with some required evening & weekend work and with the possibility of a flexible daily work schedule.
- Intended start date of June 26, 2017.
- This position may have the possibility of accommodating the successful candidate’s outside projects.
- 3 weeks of paid vacation + time off at Christmas + benefits + employer matched* RSP contribution (*after the first full year) and complimentary tickets for all performances.
- This position does not qualify for overtime, although every effort is made to balance time exceeding 40 hours a week into time-in-lieu.
- Working with the manager-level department heads: Head of Wardrobe, Head of Props, the Head of Scenic Carpentry and working collaboratively with all other departments.
- This position is based out of EO’s Production Facility but works extensively offsite for productions, events and sourcing of materials.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in a technical theatre program from a post-secondary institution.
- Three – five years in a similar position with a theatre / opera company.
- Computer skills, including proficiency in Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and working with both Windows and Apple operating systems.
- QuickBooks accounting software is an asset but not required.
- ADP payroll software experience is an asset but not required.
- Class 5 driver’s license. It is strongly suggested this person have a vehicle. EO will reimburse for kilometers as per the Employee Vehicle Usage policy.
- Deadline-oriented, able to prioritize tasks, with flexibility to adjust timelines as needed.
- Knowledge, adherence and ability to enforce of safe working practices.
- Motivated — able to see a task that requires attention and completes such tasks without hesitation.
- Ability to remain positive, upbeat, professional and with a calm demeanor at all times.
- Leadership skills with the ability to direct small crews to complete tasks.
- A demonstrated willingness to promote a team atmosphere of respect and mutual co-operation with the other employees of EOA.
- Travel maybe required – a valid passport may be required.
- Experience working with unionized crews.
Duties and typical tasks:
- Assist with mainstage / second stage productions & large events.
- Co-ordinate costumes, make-up, wigs&hair, and supertitle departments.
- Assist stage management as required.
- Assist in the creation of season budgets.
- Assist in the sourcing of materials required for set / costume builds.
- Accurate budget tracking.
- Administrative paperwork (crew expenses).
- Managing crew payroll.
- Contracting rentals, designers, facility users and casual crew.
- Researching materials and work practices.
- Welcome packages for crew and designers.
- Assist in facility management.
- Assist in the planning, set-up and operation of special events and audience outreach activities.
- Departmental invoicing.
- Supervision of production assistant and other casual staff.
- Co-chair the facility health & safety committee.
- Other duties as required.
