Job (Red Deer): House Technician – Against the Wall Theatre

Scott Block Theatre, Against the Wall TheatreHiring casual part-time HOUSE TECHNICIAN for June 1 start date

Deadline to Apply: May 20, 2017.
Start Date: June 1, 2017.
Position: Casual – Part Time.
Pay Rate: $25/hour.

Duties: The selected applicant will be responsible for: the maintenance and upkeep of the Scott Block Theatre, including the main theatre space, Centennial Stage, equipment space, and storage areas. As well as the supervision of load in/outs of various groups, and the operation in either, or both, lighting and sound. The Applicant will also need to talk to clients based on their needs.

Requirements:

  • Must have knowledge of both lighting and sound.
  • Must understand an ETC Express and a Analog sound console.
  • Must have 2 years experience and/or a diploma in Technical Theatre, or related program.
  • Must be proficient in excel/numbers, word/pages, and other office software, as well as any drafting programs.

Additional Requirements:

  • WHMIS training.
  • Standard First Aid.
  • Driver’s Licence.

About: Against the Wall Theatre is a non-profit organization moving into its tenth season of connecting people to the arts. Within the organization they have created Bull Skit Comedy, which creates weekly shows from improv to sketch comedy. The tenth season of Against the Wall Theatre will keep delivering the main stage show Bull Skit Comedy, An Improvised Christmas Carol, Calf Skit Family Show, a full length production and much more! Against the Wall Theatre manages and maintains the Scott Block Theatre Downtown, a venue with two vibrant theatre spaces.
