An original musical for young audiences – based on a traditional Jewish folktale
Empress of Blandings is holding auditions for Onions and Garlic, for this year’s Edmonton Fringe Festival! Onions and Garlic is an original musical for young audiences based on a traditional Jewish folktale, about a noble-hearted onion-seller and his wicked brother. It will run from August 17 to 27.
Auditions will be held on May 3, between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m., and May 4, between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. Callbacks will likely be held the following weekend (May 6 or 7). An accompanist will be present on the 3rd only.
For the audition itself, please prepare:
- A short monologue (ideally comic/lighthearted in tone)
- A song from a musical of your choice (ditto)
- A CV (not mandatory, but useful for us to have)
- Be prepared to do some cold reads from the script
Deadline to submit: Tuesday, May 2, 2017.
