Auditions (Edmonton): “Hadestown” – The Citadel Theatre

Deadline to submit: May 1, 2017.

The Citadel Theatre is committed to inclusive casting. We encourage submissions from professional artists who self-identify as members of under-represented communities.

Additional information:

  • Hadestown by Anais Mitchell, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin.
  • Rehearsal starts October 13, 2017.
  • Opens November 6, 2017.
  • Closes December 3, 2017.

Those selected to audition will be asked to prepare a brief folk/rock/contemporary song that shows their style and vocal range. Bring sheet music in the correct key. Those auditioning will also be given a selection from the show to prepare. A piano accompanist will be provided.

We strongly encourage any actors who are auditioning for Orpheus to accompany themselves.

Those selected to audition for the Fates or Workers will also be required to attend a dance call. We are looking for actors who can really move, expressive inside their movement and dancing. Dancers with a background in hip hop, or traditional West African dance are very appropriate.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
