Samantha MacDonald is Lunchbox Theatre’s new Artistic Producer effective July 1, 2017

Artistic Producer Mark Bellamy announced the 2017/2018 Lunchbox Theatre Season, the third and final season Bellamy has programmed for the company since taking on his new role in July 2014. With great pleasure, it was announced that Samantha MacDonald will be heading next season as the new Artistic Producer starting July 1, 2017.

Board Chair Duval Lang had this to say about Ms. MacDonald’s appointment to the role of Artistic Producer:

“On behalf of the Board of Directors of Lunchbox Theatre I am delighted to have Samantha MacDonald succeed Mark Bellamy as Artistic Producer of Lunchbox Theatre. The Search Committee interviewed four very strong candidates for the position and Ms. MacDonald earned her appointment with distinction. I am very excited to see Lunchbox Theatre in the hands of someone who has made such a significant presence in the Calgary Arts Community in a very short period of time. I eagerly await the products of her vision for Lunchbox Theatre.”

Samantha MacDonald is currently the Associate Artistic Producer and has been with Lunchbox Theatre for the past three seasons. Before making Calgary her home Ms. MacDonald was Artistic Producer of Theatre North West in Prince George, B.C. from 2010 to 2014. Prior to that she was Associate Producer at Western Canada Theatre in Kamloops, B.C.
