UPDATE: 70 Capital region venues listed on SpaceFinder Alberta! Goal of 250!
SpaceFinder Alberta currently has 70 venues listed in the Capital region, with a goal of 250 by the end of summer 2017. SpaceFinder Alberta is free to list and free to search and Arts Habitat Edmonton staff is available to help build your profile. “The Shumka Dance Centre has four different studios and other amenities for rent to the community. Through SpaceFinder, we are able to get the word out to organizations looking for a variety of spaces. It’s a great networking tool for venues AND artists.” – Darka Tarnawsky, Executive Director of Ukrainian Shumka Dancers.
For more information, or for assistance in building your profile, please contact Chelsea Boos, Community Programmer, at cboos@artshab.com, 780.474.0907.

*Think of it as Airbnb but for creative spaces*
The searchable online marketplace connects those who have a space with those who need one. For a few hours, days or even longer terms.
For example, this is what the Fringe’s Westbury Theatre listing looks like: alberta.spacefinder.org/spaces.
The system doesn’t require major upkeep!
It can sync with your organization’s existing calendar, so it won’t add to your workload.
It doesn’t mean it’ll be a free-for-all and anyone can book a space — your organization will still control who is approved to rent.
What’s next?

It’s developed by Fractured Atlas, a US non-profit arts service organization and is already in use in NYC, Toronto and Boston.
