About the Canada150in150 Project: Canada150in150® is a celebratory project created by Albertans to recognize our citizens who have shaped and may shape in any way, the communities, organizations and companies in Alberta. The project consists of a website designed to showcase video submitted stories to the world, and concludes with a Celebration Finale Event on July 1, 2017 to honor the top 150 digital stories.
Why should you submit a video? Canada150in150® Project is about showcasing all the stories the world has not yet heard or seen from “You”! Tell us about your ideas, experiences or achievements. In your story tell us how great it is to live, play and work in Alberta. Your story could be selected by the print or news media for an article or live radio or TV interview! Yes this is could be your “Five Minutes of Fame”!
“You” could be the proud parents and kids at soccer and hockey games or special music recitals, or you could be professionals in the Arts! You could be entrepreneurs or company employees or volunteers who helped to make dreams come true!
“You” could be one of the 150 Albertans celebrated in the Canada150in150® Legacy Book featuring all the 150 top stories, be honored at the Canada150in150® Ceremony and Celebration Finale Event on July 1, 2017, be awarded a Canada150in150 Legacy Medallion, and qualify for Top 10 Alberta Stories!
How do you enter? It’s easy! It’s as simple as using your cell phone to create a video no longer than 2 minutes, along with an online written summary and a photo.
Who can enter? Everyone in Alberta! Citizens, communities, companies, and organizations in Alberta can all enter their digital stories. Albertan Stefan Rzadzinski posted a testimonial http://canada150in150.ca/news/post/stephen-realizes-his-dream on why it is important to talk about ideas, experiences and achievements and “You” can too!
What do I need to do to enter? Visit www.canada150in150.ca and go to Submission Details section to view the category videos and descriptions and decide which kind of story you want to tell and within which category it fits. Then create your digital story (short written summary and maximum 2 minute video) and upload it for the world to see!
When do I enter? You have until March 26, 2017 to enter. Don’t be late!
How are the stories reviewed? Your stories will be ranked by our 150 Panel, comprised of the Canada150in150 Project Steering Committee Members. Your stories will be ranked in accordance to the criteria on the submission requirements outlined at www.canada150in150.ca. To increase your video ranking, be sure to share and promote it on social media and that way anyone in the world can vote on your story.
Who can vote on your story? Everyone in the World! The more votes the higher the ranking! You can ask anyone to vote for your story. Email your relatives, friends and colleagues across the world. Post a link and photo from your story to your social media accounts, and ask them to visit your story at www.canada150in150.ca. Tag and mention on all your posts @canada150in150 and #canada150in150 on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
