Edmonton Arts Council recognizes outstanding local artists

On Monday, February 13 the Edmonton Arts Council recognized the 2016 recipients of the Cultural Diversity in the Arts project grants and the Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund awards at the EAC’s Winter Social. The event took place at the Needle Vinyl Tavern.

Presenters included Mayor Don Iveson, who brought greetings on behalf of the City of Edmonton. The evening also featured performances by The Celeigh Cardinal Band and DJ Creeasian. Two short films by Jason Gondziola, of mtset productions, were also screened, showcasing the award and grant recipients.


The 2016 Edmonton Artists’ Trust Fund Recipients are Lauren Gillis, Taryn Kneteman, Dwayne Martineau, and Tony Olivares with a special shout-out to Jessy Ardern, Jason Chinn, Chris Dodd, Conni Massing, and Gerry Potter from the Edmonton theatre community.


The 2016 Cultural Diversity in the Arts Recipients are Nasra Adem, Jacob Amon, Adam Bentley, Justin (Justice) Berger, Silvia Buttiglione, Farhad Khosravi, William LeBlanc (a.k.a. Rellik), Iman Mersal, Oksana Movchan,Dean Musani,Adriana Onita, Garth Prinsonsky (a.k.a. Garth Prince), Mike Siek, and Brandon Wint.
