Accepting submissions from Alberta-based playwrights & Alberta theatre creators of all backgrounds and experience!

Alberta Theatre Projects welcomes applications from Alberta-based playwrights and theatre creators of all backgrounds and experience for the Enbridge Playwrights Awards. Awards of $3,000 each will be presented to one emerging and one established playwright, fostering the research, creation and development of a new play and nurturing Canadian playwriting talent.

To celebrate and support playwrights living and working in Alberta, this year our Awards will only be open to playwrights with a home address in this province.

  • Undertake a workshop (facility rental, artist fees, etc.)
  • Convene a public reading (facility rental, artist fees, administrative costs, etc.)

ESTABLISHED PLAYWRIGHTS: The Enbridge Playwrights Award for an Established Canadian Playwright may be used for the following expenses:

  • Undertake a workshop (facility rental, artist fees, etc.)
  • Convene a public reading (facility rental, artist fees, administrative costs, etc.)
  • Applicants to the Enbridge Playwrights Award for an Established Canadian Playwright must have had at least one play produced by a member of the Professional Association of Canadian Theatres (PACT). Please note the name of this theatre on your application.

ALL APPLICATIONS SHOULD INCLUDE:

  • Your address in Alberta
