Mark Bellamy to step down as Artistic Producer in July 2017

Board Chair Earl Connors offered these words, “With a sense of immense gratitude and on behalf of the Board of Directors and Staff of Lunchbox Theatre, I wish to announce that Artistic Producer Mark Bellamy will be leaving at the end of the 2016/17 season. Mark has decided to pursue his passion in theatre acting and directing. Mark has been a force in the revival of Lunchbox Theatre, creating a superb team of professionals who together have attracted great talent and shows through three seasons, to the delight of audiences. The Board has commenced a search to find and attract Mark’s replacement.

We encourage our audience to look forward to the 2017/18 season, assembled by Mark and his staff – a wonderful parting gift from a truly talented artist! Thank you Mark! We wish you continued success and look forward to enjoying your talents on the stage!”

Bellamy, a renowned actor, director and artistic leader in the Calgary community and across the country, was eloquent as always, “It has been a great honour and privilege to lead Lunchbox Theatre forward for the past three years. I have been very lucky to work with an amazingly dedicated, hard working, supportive staff and an enthusiastic, forward thinking board. After spending 17 years as an arts administrator I am stepping aside to devote more time to my artistic craft and personal life. I know that I leave Lunchbox in a place of renewed energy and growth, and I look forward to seeing it flourish under new leadership.”
