Casting call for Female ‘Gold-diggers’!
Musicalmania’s award-winning Days of the Klondike needs the following roles filled for our run at the Edmonton Fringe Festival this summer! (August 17-27, 2017):
(As this is an historical production, performers of course must strongly resemble the people they are portraying.)
- Klondike Kate (“Kitty”) Rockwell. (Beloved dance-hall girl and entrepreneur). (Pictured). Lead role. A petite, (approx 5’2 to 5’7), professional level dancer/singer/actor. Looks to be in early 20’s. Caucasian. Salaried position (based on a percentage profits).
- Klondike Kate Ryan. (Canada’s first female RCMP). Taller (5’8-6′), robust, Caucasian. Looks to be early or mid 20’s. Major role. Must be a strong singer/actor with some dance experience.
- Dancehall girls. Supporting cast. Singing/dancing ladies of various sizes, ages, shapes and ethnic backgrounds. Previous experience not necessary, but a vibrant stage presence, ability to learn some dance moves, and singing in tune are a must.
Deadline to submit: February 15, 2017.
Group rehearsals will be late Sunday afternoons and Thursday evenings, in St. Albert, beginning the 1st week of July.
New cast members will be given video material to work with, and extra dance rehearsals will be at the Lecky School of Dance in west Edmonton, as suits the schedules of those involved in the numbers.
Soloists will have one-on-one time with me, again, as suits our mutual schedules.
Please email queries, bios, photos, video footage (if possible), no later than February 15, 2017 to Cindy Oxley, at therealmusicalmania@gmail.com.
