Hiring up to 2 experienced Sewists for spring season
Fort Edmonton Park‘s contract Sewists, under the direction of the Costuming Coordinator, will work closely with the Costuming Assistant and Department Volunteers to alter and maintain costumes, build stock costume pieces, and assist with the moving of historical costumes between locations.

Qualifications for this position include:
- Completion or enrollment in a sewing-related program or, equivalent experience,
- Excellent hand and machine-sewing skills,
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English,
- Experience in completing alterations.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain an efficient working pace, will be essential in coping with the demands of this seasonal role. Experience working with period costumes is not essential but will be considered a definite asset.
Hours of work: Up to 32 hours p/w. The schedule will include Saturdays.
Rate of pay: $15 per hour.
Contract duration: Contract begins on March 13, 2017, and ends on May 31, 2017.
