Rubaboo Festival

8th Annual RUBABOO FESTIVAL begins January 30!

Join us at Rubaboo 2017 for an amazing week with incredible artists!

Festival runs: January 30 – February 4, 2017.

RUBABOO is the only Aboriginal arts festival in Alberta and we passionately look to its development. It is gaining in momentum every year establishing a strong presence as an emerging arts festival that challenges cultural expectations, promotes and encourages cultural sharing and understanding.

Rubaboo is recognized as a Métis-Michif language word, meaning a stew or soup trappers used to make on the trapline. Rubaboo is a philosophy about what sustains us; it’s about feeding the spirit, about thriving; a rich dish filled with all good things, thus the Rubaboo Arts Festival.

It is a multi-disciplinary arts festival, showcasing Aboriginal theatre, music, dance, art, food, family and youth events, artist workshops, cultural workshops and aboriginal crafts. It has a mandate to develop new artistic works and present these works in progress during the festival.

We open with Santee Smith‘s NeoIndigenA on January 30 & 31 at La Cité Francophone at 8:00pm!

TIX $20 at the door only. Box office opens at 7:00pm.
