Host Families needed near King’s University for students and instructors
Opera NUOVA is seeking free housing for its 2017 Intensive program participants. Each year over 80 emerging artists (aged 20-30) come to Edmonton from across the country to participate in NUOVA’s intensive training programs. Some participants choose to stay with host families.
Opera NUOVA is seeking hosts who would be able to provide a free, private, furnished bedroom with access to shared kitchen and living facilities from May 15 through July 3 (dates vary depending on participant.) Ideally, the hosts are near to The King’s University campus on 50th Street. A smoke-free home is a must, however, pets are OK. Hosts who could provide access to a piano are especially desirable. Participants will be attending NUOVA program 6 days a week from 8am to 9pm and will be home very little. A safe, quiet, comfortable home-away-from-home is key to their successful completion of the programs.
Opera NUOVA is also seeking completely private, furnished suites or apartments for its faculty members. Faculty accommodation is required from a variety of dates between May 10 – July 2. These facilities should include a private bedroom, bathroom and living rooms with access to laundry and parking. Opera NUOVA will consider reduced rentals or an in-kind donation receipt for any suite provided free of charge. Ideally these facilities are near to The King’s University 50th Street campus.
Billet hosts will be acknowledged for the donation of time and facility and will be provided with passes to the NUOVA Festival (May 22 – July 2). Interested households are encouraged to contact Opera NUOVA via email at admin@operanuova.ca or by phone at 780.487.4844 by February 1, 2017.
