Introduce yourself to the ATP artistic team!
When: Monday, February 27 & Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Calgary.
General Auditions are an opportunity for actors with previous theatre experience to introduce themselves and their work to the artistic team at Alberta Theatre Projects, and a chance for the artistic team at ATP to meet actors who are new to them.
We encourage actors from all cultures, races, ethnicities, and gender identities, mental and physical abilities to apply for a General Audition. Actors must be available to audition in Calgary. Sorry, no video submissions will be accepted.
We invite actors to prepare two contrasting monologues from the contemporary repertoire. At least one should be written by a Canadian playwright. Your audition must be no longer than 5 minutes total in length.
To apply for a General Audition, please submit the following materials on or before Feb 13, 2017:
- A brief cover letter that expresses your interest in our work at ATP.
- A current headshot photograph.
- Your resume that outlines your theatre experience.
Please send all materials via email to Laurel Green, Artistic Associate at lgreen@ATPlive.com using the subject header “General Auditions 2017”. Please indicate your date preference and your Equity status. Only those actors selected for a General Audition will be contacted to schedule an audition time.
We will do our best to accommodate requests for certain times/dates if they are indicated in your submission.
You will be seen by Artistic Associate Laurel Green and members of ATP’s Artistic Team including Producer Dianne Goodman and Youth Engagement Manager Talore Peterson.
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
Alberta Theatre Projects: Our aim is a world where hearts and minds are opened by the life-changing experience of theatre. We create community by producing relevant, high-quality contemporary theatre; by playing a leadership role in the development and creation of new Canadian plays; and by bringing audience and artists together in an ex-change around our work.
