Audition Date: January 9, 2017 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at Bert Church Theatre, Airdrie AB.
Callbacks: January 11, 2017 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bert Church Theatre, Airdrie AB
Rehearsal Dates: Starting February 6: Mondays & Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (must be available for both days).
Tech Week: May 22 to May 25.
Performance Dates: May 26 & 27 (must be available for both days, no exceptions)
Audition Requirements: 1 min prepared monolgue. Cold Read required.
CHARACTER BREAKDOWN:
- ANNE SHIRLEY (Female 20-25) – Passionate and Imaginative young red?headed orphan taken in by siblings, Marilla and Matthew.
- MARILLA CUTHBERT (Female 40-50) – An unmarried woman in her 40’s. She appears stern and severe but underneath she has a wry sense of humour and a nurturing heart.
- MATTHEW CUTHBERT (Male 50-60) – An unmarried man in his 50-60’s. Matthew is very shy. Anne considers Matthew to be a kindred spirit.
- RACHEL LYNDE (Female 40-60) – Marilla’s nosey, opinionated neighbour. An affectionate, quarrelsome friendship exists between the neighbours.
- DIANA BARRY (Female 20-25) – a classmate who becomes Anne’s bosom best friend.
- GILBERT BLYTHE (Male 20-25) – a classmate who becomes Anne’s rival.
- JOSIE PYE (Female 20-25) a classmate who starts as Anne’s worst enemy.
- JANE ANDREWS (Female 20-25) a classmate of Anne’s.
- RUBY GILLIS (Female 20-25) a classmate of Anne’s.
- MOODY SPURGEON MCPHERSON (Male 20-25) a classmate of Anne’s.
- MRS. BARRY (Female 30-40) Diana’s strict, unforgiving mother.
- MRS. SPENCER (Female 30-40) – a worker from the orphanage.
- MISS STACEY’S VOICE (Female 30-40) Anne’s teacher.
