What’s On (Edmonton): “Wellspring” & “Naked Tourists, Sacred Mountain” Double Bill – Script Salon

On Sunday, November 6th, 2016 SCRIPT SALON is proud to present a theatrical double feature with stories ranging from the profound to the profane. Two one act plays by local playwrights will be presented: WELLSPRING by Leslea Kroll and NAKED TOURISTS, SACRED MOUNTAIN by Rod Macpherson.

  • The small Manitoba town of WELLSPRING is slowly disintegrating, wasted away by environmental damage and corporate indifference. Three women from different corners of the community bear witness to the calamity.
  • READ BY Louise Lambert, Sharla Matkin, and Allysa Pierre.
  • Inspired by real events, NAKED TOURISTS, SACRED MOUNTAIN finds two foreign travellers in Malaysia facing brutal prosecution after a free spirited mountaintop baring of the bodies is interpreted as unforgivable sacrilege.
  • READ BY Robert Benz, Corben Kushneryk, Louise Lambert, and Gou Noborio.

When: Sunday, November 6 at 7:30 pm.

Where: Upper Arts Space at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 10037 84 Avenue.

Admission is free although donations are accepted. Refreshments are available. Parking is free.

After the reading the audience is invited to ask questions and provide commentary directly back to the playwrights.

SCRIPT SALON is sponsored and supported by the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Alberta Playwrights Network and Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
