Ghost River Theatre, Workshop for TeensHands-on workshop to inspire the collaborative imagination of teens!

This fun hands-on devising theatre intensive for teens is designed to inspire the collaborative imagination of students. Over the course of this two-day workshop, Ghost River Theatre’s award winning Artistic Director Eric Rose will lead them through a series of devising theatre exercises based on the unique artistic methods of Ghost River Theatre.

Students will come way from the intensive having learned to create highly original and inventive performances in a collaborative environment that encourages self-expression, builds self-esteem and inspires imaginative thinking. Learn about the tools of team work, creative flexibility, and artistic openness in a hands on and supportive environment with a team of professionals who specialize in innovative storytelling.

TIME/DATES: Tuesday, Nov 8, 6:30pm – 9:30pm & Wednesday, Nov 9, 6:30pm-9:30pm.

VENUE: West Village Theatre at 2007 10th Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T3C 0K4.

COST: $150 + GST per student and includes all materials related to the intensive.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Eric Rose is an award winning director and creator of live performance and the Artistic Director of Calgary’s acclaimed Ghost River Theatre. His passion for the creative process has inspired the diversity of his theatrical experience spanning: large scale contemporary and classical theatre, site- specific performance, performance creation, devising theatre, new play development, physical theatre and dance.

He has been the Playwright in Residence at Alberta Theatre Projects, was named in Avenue Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40 class of 2012 and the recipient of the 2012 Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award for his body of work as a theatrical innovator. As part of Ghost River Theatre he was proud to be the Company in Residence at Division of Drama in the School of Creative and Performing Arts at the University of Calgary for the 2015/16 Season.

As an educator, Eric has taught for: Globe Theatre Regina, University of Toronto, Theatre Calgary, Charlottetown Festival, Tarragon Theatre, NextFest, Calgary Board of Education, Mount Royal University, Red Deer and Sheridan College, University of Calgary, Theatre Ontario, Artstrek and many others. Recently he taught the Drama 460 course at the University of Calgary, a full year course focused on devising a new production using GRT’s signature aesthetic innovation.
