Call for Submissions (Edmonton): Designers – SkirtsAfire herArts Festival

As we head into our fifth year, we are looking for six designers to be featured in our Skirts Installation at the 2017 SkirtsAfire herArts Festival. The theme for this year’s competition is ‘A Skirt From Her Closet’ and all skirts must be constructed from found up-cycled materials. The six chosen designers will compete for the title of Official Festival Skirt. All six skirts will then be displayed for the duration of the festival in the Cabaret Space located in the Alberta Avenue Community League, March 2-12, 2017. There will be cash prizes for the top 3 designs.

SkirtsAfire herArts Festival 2017

SkirtsAfire, herArts Festival is a multi-disciplinary arts festival featuring the work of women. SkirtsAfire takes place on Alberta Avenue in conjunction with International Women’s Day, March 9 through 12, 2017. We produce and present passionate, provocative, moving and entertaining female driven performances, exhibits and workshops.

Deadline to apply: November 25, 2016.

The six finalists will be notified on December 2, 2016.
