Indigenous Performance Showcase at 4th Intertribal Gathering in Haines Junction, YK
The Intertribal Gathering is IPAA’s event that travels to different communities each year. We feature local artists in an Indigenous performance showcase, spotlight Indigenous leaders in the region and encourage national artistic leaders to connect about the work emerging across Turtle Island (North America).
IPAA’s Intertribal Gathering features a Yukon First Nations performance showcase along with critical discussions about presenting and producing in rural and remote communities. The Indigenous Performing Arts Alliance (IPAA) will host the 4th Intertribal Gathering at the Da Kų Culture Centre in Haines Junction, YK from October 1 – 3, 2016.
The gathering immediately follows the Aboriginal Curatorial Collective – Collectif des commissaires autochtones‘ National Gathering Kwä̀n Mày Dáyè Dàátthʼi in Whitehorse, YK from September 28 – 30, 2016.
IPAA launched a website with details on our gathering and ACC has an ongoing fundraiser for their event where you can donate here.
If you are interested in attending, please apply for travel funding from the Canada Council for the Arts (Theatre / Dance / Interarts). Applications are due 6 weeks prior to travel, so please connect with your program ASAP if you are planning on attending.
