Seeking proposals on art, diversity, inclusion, and a lived experience of disability
The SPARK Disability Art Festival is seeking emerging or professional artists to present on subjects relating to art, diversity, inclusion and a lived experience of disability during this year’s SPARK Festival November 28 – December 2, 2016.
Deadline to Submit: September 15, 2016
PRESENTORS must self-identify as an artist or arts professional who is Deaf, has a disability and/or is living with mental illness. Preference will be given to at least 1 individual with a developmental disability although artists pan-disability are eligible to apply; presenters with a developmental disability are invited to present with support if necessary. Presentors should expect to share artistic practices that illustrate art and disability, showcasing the ideas, approaches and challenges behind this type of work. Presenters are free to propose topics, interactive or exploratory experiences that will take place during the closing night of the Festival.
- Presentations may be up to 20 minutes in length.
- Proposals for presentations are being accepted until 11:59pm midnight on September 15, 2016.
