Auditions (Edmonton): Apprentice Program – Toy Guns Theatre

Toy Guns Apprentice Program

5  Candidates needed for 32 week Apprentice Program!

Toy Guns Dance Theatre’s Apprentice Program is the brain child of Artistic Director Jake W. Hastey in response to the necessity for a counter-culture to the competition based dance programs being offered in Edmonton. The program will explore the unique gifts and challenges facing emerging dancer/performers looking to make a career in the performing arts. Through the work of a highly skilled team of experienced artists/teachers/directors the program will bridge the gap between the technical and performance necessities of the professional dance world with the fundamental necessities of long term body health and business acumen required.

The program will link together a team of artistic directors and industry leaders who will assist the students in preparing themselves for farther developmental and performance opportunities. The students will work with Toy Guns Dance Theatre artistic director Jake W Hastey, Small Matters Productions co-artistic director Christine Lesiak, Wishbone Theatre’s co-artistic director Chris Bullough, Rhythmic Flow Productions owner/director Richard Andries, Body Works Pilates Studio owner Steve Bryson, as well as workshops and classes led by award winning national and international artists.

We recommend a strong background in dance or theatre as a prerequisite but are looking primarily for your passion as a driving force to facing the long term challenges of a career in the arts.

* If you are unsure if you are a suitable candidate for the program we encourage you to contact us for more information or to arrange a consultation with one of our directors.
