What’s On (Edmonton): “Murder at the Magic Emporium” (Edmonton Fringe) – RKJ Entertainment

Murder at the Magic EmporiumPremiering at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival this August!

Rising local talent Bonita Akai writes, directs and stars in this masterful mash-up of murder, mystery and magic.

Famous magician Henning Lee has mysteriously been killed in an illusion gone horribly wrong. The members of his troupe accuse each other of performing the evil act– Josephine, Henning’s fame-hungry assistant; Vernon, the group’s money driven manager and Raymond, the lovestruck stagehand.

During Murder at the Magic Emporium, the audience will experience large scale illusions in an up-close, intimate setting. Performances of this nature are typically held in spacious theatres where the audience is over 50 feet away.

The Magic Emporium is a unique BYOV: a black-box theatre located at 8840 60 Avenue. Only 10 minutes south of the main Fringe grounds, it boasts plenty of free parking and air conditioning.

Murder at the Magic Emporium runs from August 12-21, 2016.
