Motel Theatre Accepting Proposals for Motel Theatre space in Arts Commons

Motel Theatre has a limited amount of weeks still available for rental in the 2016-2017 season. A flexible 50-seat black-box performance venue located at Arts Commons, (formerly EPCOR CENTRE for the Performing Arts) 225 8th Avenue S.E. Emerging and established artists and performing arts companies working in all disciplines who are interested in showcasing their work in Motel Theatre are invited to submit proposals for consideration.

Upon the successful scheduling of a proposal, artists/companies will be contacted to arrange more specific details of the tenancy. The weekly rate for Motel Theatre is $650 plus applicable ticket fees. The usage fee reflects the inclusion of a $190 weekly subsidy provided by Downstage, reducing the cost from $840 weekly fee set by Arts Commons. Please contact Downstage Production Manager Tuled Giovanazzi for additional details.

We will confirm receipt of your proposals via email. If you do not receive a confirmation from Downstage within a week of your submission please contact us again.

Interested artists/companies are asked to submit a project proposal about one page in length describing the work to be presented, the artists involved (if known), the ideal presentation dates (please give three options) and why Motel Theatre is the venue of choice for the project. Proposals will be accepted on an ongoing basis until all available dates are filled. We are primarily seeking proposals for one or two week time slots, though longer projects will also be considered where possible. A weekly booking in the space runs Sunday to Saturday, unless otherwise noted.
