Workshop designed for the preparation of audition material.
This class is for young actors (ages 17-21) who are preparing for conservatory training, actively auditioning, and in need of audition material to show theatre schools, agents/casting directors, and theatre companies. The three basic areas to be covered are:
THE CHOICE – how and where to find appropriate material that is well-suited to you, regarding your personal uniqueness and castability.
THE WORKSHOP – a directorial approach to effectively mount and execute the choice to best demonstrate your skills.
THE AUDITION – a realistic understanding of the audition process, and mastery of the dynamics involved with presenting yourself in a variety of audition situations.
When: August 22 – 26, 5 days at 4 hrs/day.

Jamie Cavanagh is a Toronto-based actor, writer, and comedian, is a graduate of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting program at the University of Alberta, and was a participant in the 2014 Citadel Theatre/Banff Centre Program.
Jamie Cavanagh has been nominated for a Dora Mavor Moore as well as multiple Elizabeth Sterling Haynes awards as an actor and producer, and has performed in cities all over the world including: London UK, Atlanta GA, Chicago IL, Bellingham WA, Vancouver BC, Toronto ON, and Winnipeg MB. He has also taught at London’s renowned London Academy of Musical and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA), as well as The Bridge Theatre Training Company.
Recent acting credits include: Dave [The Great War] for Soulpepper/VideoCabaret; Thomas Novachek [Venus in Fur], Mercutio [Romeo and Juliet] for the Citadel Theatre, and Michael Armstrong [Armstrong’s War] for Theatre Network.
