Auditions (Edmonton): Actor for “Fiddle Cat” – Kompany Family Theatre

Kompany Family Theatre - Fiddle CatProfessional Actor Required for New Family Production

Kompany Family Theatre is seeking a professional actor for a role that incorporates a variety of characters for our brand-new, family show, Fiddle Cat by Jan Taylor. This production will be presented as part of the Fringe Theatre Adventures, Arts at the Barn Presentation Series. The role in question includes (but is not limited to) the following fanciful characters: Royal Servant, Royal Ball, Moon Daughter, Numpty Goat, Egyptian Ghost Cat, Rat & Cow.

Skills Required: Interested professional actors should possess:

  • Skill at portraying a variety of fanciful characters and a desire to perform for very young audiences and families.
  • Comfort with movement, creative voice use and rudimentary singing.
  • Experience and/or a desire to learn puppetry.

Commitment: Interested auditioners should be available for the following workshops, rehearsals & performances:

  • Script, Puppet & Design workshops – July 22 to 29 (daytime).
  • Rehearsals – October 10 to November 4 (daytime).
  • Performances – November 4 to November 10 in the Westbury Theatre, Fringe Theatre Adventures. (primarily matinees).

Auditions: Auditions (in a group format) will be held in Edmonton on July 11 from 7 to 9 p.m.
