Deadline to Nominate for the CAT Awards and Sandy Singer Award is June 30.

THE CAT AWARDS: Each year Calgary-ACTS sponsors the CAT Awards – Calgary’s “Community Theatre Awards.” This event is held towards the end of August to celebrate the previous season of Community Theatre Productions.

Nominations for the CAT Awards are accepted from theatre audiences and the Calgary-ACTS Adjudication team from September to June for all eligible Community Theatre Productions in the Calgary area, whether it was produced by a Calgary-ACTS member company or not.

SANDY SINGER AWARD: Every year, Calgary-Acts is pleased to recognize an individual who has made significant contributions to community theatre, and this award is named for just such an individual.

The ideal candidate for the Sandy Singer Award should hold a variety of roles behind the scenes with a variety of community theatre companies and should present as a positive role model to all those in contact with them.

Please note that the Cat Awards committee -– those that ultimately vote for and choose this recipient –- may also decide to not choose anyone in any given year should they determine that the criteria was not met for this very special award.
