Ethno-cultural mandate or ethno-cultural casting statement: SkirtsAfire encourages submissions from people of all ethnicities and cultural backgrounds.

Additional Information: The Mommy Monologues has been in development for over a year. It is a compilation of ten, 8 to 10 minute monologues, and 1 song by 10 Edmonton playwrights and 1 singer songwriter (Beth Graham, Andrea House, Katherine Koller, Annette Loiselle, Conni Massing, Nicole Moeller, Mieko Ouchi, Dana Rayment, Glenda Stirling, Michele Vance Hehir and Cat Walsh). The monologues reflect many perspectives, ages, ethnicities and life experience. Some are funny, some tragic, some personal, all insightful, moving and entertaining.

Roles available for The Mommy Monologues:

  • Woman in her 20’s.
  • Woman in her late 30’s/early 40’s.
  • Woman in her 50’s.

Rehearsals are from February 7 to March 1, and performances March 2 to March 12, 2017. Ideally, this actor is also available for a workshop in October 2016. Dates TBA

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the audition.
