Dance Crush Series: Richard Lee & Mark Ikeda’s “When Words Fail”
This season, MZD produces four performances with some of our favourite movement-based artists from across Canada. These artists will be sharing their craft through community workshops and also performing.
When Words Fail is an improvised dance-theatre format developed and performed by Richard Lee and Mark Ikeda. Based off of a single audience suggestion, Lee and Ikeda create a 45 minute story told through both text and dance. Audiences can expect the humour and sense of play they might see in a night of improvised theatre, as well as the athletic and inventive physicality they’d see in a high-octane contemporary dance show. Improvised dance and text form a singular language for the show; what we say changes every night!

Where: Spazio Performativo (10816-95 St)
