Stage Speech & Projection Workshop with Jane MacFarlane

When: Saturday, June 18, 11:30pm – 6:00pm.

SYNOPSIS: Under the guidance of Jane MacFarlane, we will be exploring how to use correct technique to maximize your sound for stage speaking. Whether you are working in a theatre without microphones, need to project to the back of a dance or fitness studio or simply want confidence that you are using your voice to its fullest ability, safely and healthily, this class is for you!

INSTRUCTOR BIO: Jane is a Calgary-based voice coach who has taught Voice and Acting for over 20 years. She received her training at York University, where she studied with David Smuggler and received her MFA in Acting as well as completing the Voice & Speech Teacher Diploma. After finishing her degree, Jane interned at the American Repertory Theatre’s Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University. She has also taught at York University, Southern Methodist University, University of Calgary, Mount Royal University, University of Alberta as well as guest teaching across the province. She has worked with Vertigo Theatre, Alberta Theatre Projects, The Shakespeare Company, Lunchbox Theatre, Sage Theatre, Theatre Junction and is the Resident Voice Coach for Theatre Calgary.
