Auditioning for “It Came From Mars” – 1938 and the Martians have Invaded!

Audition dates:

Monday, June 13, 2016 – 7:00-10:00 pm
Wednesday, June 15, 2016 – 7:00-10:00 pm

Invited Call backs:

Sunday, June 19, 2016 – 1:00-5:00 pm

First Read-Through: Monday, June 27, 2016 7:00-10:00

Rehearsal Dates: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:00-10:00, Sunday afternoons from 1:00-5:00, August 9 – September 29, 2016.

Production Run: Friday, October 7 to Saturday, October 15, 2016. All cast members are required during “Tech Week”, October 2 through October 6, 2016.

Synopsis: October 30, 1938. While in rehearsal for their weekly radio play the cast and crew of
“Farlowe’s Mystery Theatre Hour” hear a terrifying report over the radio – Martians have landed! Faced with Martian invasion and barricaded in their studio; passions ignite, secret identities are revealed and slapstick mayhem ensues when a washed-up director, his drama queen Ex, a wanna-be war hero, a ditzy actress, and a German sound effects wiz all think they are about to annihilated by men from Mars. Honesty and hilarity erupt as truth and loyalty square off against fear and paranoia.

QUENTIN FARLOWE, 35+, director/writer/actor
MAUDE MYRTLES, 25+, secretary
WERNER KREILIG, 20s, sound effects technician
GEORGE LOOMIS, 40s, actor, former soldier
DOLORES BRECKINRIDGE, 20s, actress
JULIA CRANE, 30+, actress

Please prepare two modern contrasting monologues with a combined length of no more than five (5) minutes in length. Those actors seen at call backs will be provided sides for cold reading.
