Auditions (Calgary): 2016/2017 Season Auditions – StoryBook Theatre

Dates: June 5 – 16, 2016.

* All children auditioning must be 10 years or older and will only be seen for the shows requiring children.

Musical Audition Preparation:

Students (15 & under):

  • One musical theatre selection approximately 16 bars.

Adults (16 & up):

  • Two contrasting pieces of musical theatre approximately 16 bars.
  • One comedic monologue no longer than 1 minute.

Please Note:

  • All songs must be accompanied by a track or pianist.
  • A piano and sound dock will be made available for use.
  • There will be NO PIANIST provided.

Hana’s Suitcase Audition Preparation:

  • One comedic monologue no longer than 1 minute.
  • One dramatic monologue no longer than 1 minute.

When deciding to audition be sure to review the SHOW INFORMATION SHEETS to understand the scope of the committment required to participate in a StoryBook production.

Due to the overwhelming response we receive for our auditions, please understand that we may only choose to see only one of the items you have prepared, and if you go longer than the time allotted you will be cut off.

If you have any questions regarding audition preparation we ask you to please consider our STUDENT AUDITION PREP COURSE on Wednesday May 25 at 6pm. Registration required.

CALLBACKS ARE SCHEDULED FOR THE FOLLOWING DATES:

  • Beauty & The Beast / Seussical – June 18, 10am to 6pm
  • Hana’s Suitcase – June 20, 6pm to 10pm
  • Bridge to Terabithia – June 21, 6pm to 10pm
  • Urban Jungle Book – June 22, 6pm to 10pm
