The Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society announces Troy Emery Twigg has been appointed Artistic Director!A member of the Kainai Nation of the Blackfoot Confederacy, Troy Emery Twigg is an arts instigator, educator, choreographer, performer, and director. Troy comes from a varied and diverse training and background in arts and education. He brings to Making Treaty 7 a national reputation with twenty years of experience in building arts communities, dance, theatre, performance and creative activities.
“We are thrilled to have Troy in the leadership role with Making Treaty 7 as he was instrumental in the difficult transition of 2015. He has been involved with Making Treaty 7 since its inception, he understands the dynamics of working in both cultures and he is respected by all of our stakeholders,” said Lee Crowchild, Chair of the Making Treaty 7 Cultural Society Board.
Executive Director, Michèle Stanners added, “I’ve had the privilege of working with Troy on the production and in the community. I’m excited to continue our collaboration to deliver on our reconciliation mandate.”
