Frente Theatre Collective presents Swallow
When: June 1 – 5, 2016.
Where: The Garneau Theatre, 8712-109 Street.
Swallow juxtaposes the detrimental industrial impacts of resource extraction with the fragility of bodies, the resiliency of spirit/memory and the unbreakable bonds of kinship between two sisters. It is a live theatrical performance that creates a lush experience with poetic language, film projection by Tim Folkmann and soundscape by Dave Clarke.
Written by Leslea Kroll, directed by Eileen Sproule, featuring Laura Raboud as Karly and Rebecca Starr as Jules. Sound design by Dave Clarke, set and costumes by Marissa Kochanski, with lights and projections by media artist Tim Folkmann.
Given the recent devastating forest fire in Fort McMurray and surrounding area, we hope that Swallow is a place where we can all converse about the current catastrophe and find solace in the parallels of the fragility of bodies, the strength of spirit and the sacredness of home.
