Welcome to Theatre Alberta, Silve and Jake!

Silverius Materi | Library Assistant: Silverius is an Edmonton-based actor and creator, originally hailing from Red Deer. He recently completed his second year of the BFA Acting program at the University of Alberta, and is excited to see what sorts of delightful challenges the next two years of training will hold. Prior to joining Theatre Alberta, Silverius worked at the U of A’s Rutherford Library, as well as at the Red Deer Public Library.

In his spare time, Silverius likes to wear bow ties and read for hours on end. He is an inveterate logophile and always knows just the word for which you are looking. He is thrilled to be spending his summer at Theatre Alberta with the rest of the wonderful TA staff.

Jake Tkaczyk | Artstrek 2016 Program Assistant: Jake is excited to return to Theatre Alberta for his second summer as the Artstrek Program Assistant. A recent graduate of Red Deer College’s Theatre Performance and Creation program, Jake has been involved with Artstrek for almost a decade, first as a student, then a Super, and now as Program Assistant. Jake’s newfound passion is 6am Spin classes. Ask anyone at the office – it’s likely he’s attempted to recruit them!

This September, Jake will begin his final year of the BFA Acting program at the University of Alberta. He can be seen this summer in The Big Fat Surprise at the Edmonton Fringe and next year in Studio Theatre’s Twelfth Night.
