- This course is by application only with video and live auditions.
- Scholarships and financial aid are available based on ability and necessity.
- The course will run from July 18 through the Edmonton International Fringe Festival performances, August 11-21.
The Program: Toy Guns Dance Theatre is offering the summer of a lifetime to emerging theatre and dance artists. This four week intensive will immerse you in a world of dance and theatre with an incredible staff of Canadian dance and theatre artists. An intense training and rehearsal schedule will be supplemented with dancer health and career seminars that will include:
- Resume building,
- Audition skills,
- Professional headshots,
- Personalized Pilates routine and video.
The Performance: The participants will perform at the 2016 Edmonton International Fringe Festival in a new work by the “startlingly creative, prolific, and spirited” (Edmonton Journal) artistic director of Toy Guns Dance Theatre, Jake W Hastey. Jake’s five-star productions have toured across Canada to audience and critical acclaim. He has garnered national media attention as well as multiple awards and nominations for his directing, choreography, and leadership in the arts.
