What’s On (Edmonton): Play Reading at the Script Salon – PGC, APN, Holy Trinity Anglican Church

Script SalonSCRIPT SALON SERVES UP A SAVOURY BUFFET OF FOOD, MOODS AND SHREWD ATTITUDES WITH ORAL FIXATIONS

On Sunday, May 1, SCRIPT SALON is pleased to present a surprising and compelling exploration of people’s complex relationship with food: ORAL FIXATIONS by Blaine Newton and Leslie Greentree.

THE STORY: Food is love … except when it’s about competition, loss or revenge.

This literary culinary adventure explores the connections between pressed meats, guilty pleasures, petroleum-based by-products, disgusting secrets, happy memories and the satisfying crispy skin bits at the bottom of the roasting pan.

The play is read by Robert Benz, Lora Brovold, Oscar Derkx, Ellie Heath and Davina Stewart.

Sunday, May 1 at 7:30 in the Upper Arts Space at Holy Trinity Anglican Church (10037 84 Avenue).

Admission is free although donations are accepted. Refreshments are available. Parking is free.

After the reading the audience is invited to ask questions and provide commentary directly to the playwrights.

SCRIPT SALON is sponsored and supported by the Playwrights Guild of Canada, Alberta Playwrights Network, and Holy Trinity Anglican Church.
