Workshops by Request: Hometown Series brings adult education on the theatrical topic of your choice to your community! Banner Workshops no addressIntro to Stage Make UpApril 9th– hosted by the River Valley Players in Drayton Valley, taught by Noreen Jani. Noreen has been a Make-up Artist for the past 17 years. She was professionally trained in Vancouver at the Blanche Macdonald Centre. She has worked on film, TV shows, live theatre shows, commercials, video, Opera, bridal and taught workshops. She has worked in all genres from Basic Make-up through to Special Effects.
Intro to Improv***THIS IS BEING RESCHEDULED***– hosted by the Horizon Players Association in Spruce Grove, taught by Joleen Ballendine. Joleen has been improvising with Edmonton’s Rapid Fire Theatre since 2007. She’s the head instructor of RFT’s At-Risk-Youth Program, and freelances as an instructor, actor and writer.
Directing Musical Theatre– April 16th– hosted by Grande Prairie Live Theatre, taught by Dave Horak. Dave is an experienced actor, director and theatre educator, holding a BFA in Acting and an MFA in Directing from the U of A.
The Collected Energy: An Introduction to the Methodologies of Tadashi Suzuki with Peter Balkwill– April 23rd & 24th– hosted by Handsome Alice Theatre (formerly Urban Curvz) in Calgary. Peter is a co-artistic director, and director of workshops at the Old Trout Puppet Workshop in Calgary, Alberta. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in acting from the University of Washington in Seattle, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theatre from University of Victoria. While studying he focused almost exclusively on the physical application of theatre.
