Fundraiser (Edmonton): APN’s 30th Anniversary Showdown – Alberta Playwrights’ Network

APN 30 ShowdownIt’s a battle of the all-stars at APN’s 30th Showdown!

Join us on April 9th at the Citadel’s Tucker Amphitheatre as we celebrate and support the Alberta Playwrights’ Network – an organization that has helped hundreds of Alberta plays move from page to stage and hundreds of playwrights move from emerging to professional, local to international. This Anniversary fundraiser will feature quick-fire play readings from APN’s 30-year history. You’ll mix and mingle, eat and drink and then vote for your favourites as we pit thirty years of award-winning Alberta plays against each other.

Date: April 9, 2016

Time: 7pm – 11pm

Where: Tucker Amphitheater – Upstairs at The Citadel Theatre

The APN 30th Anniversary Showdown will celebrate the early writing from our province’s prized playwrights including Vern Theissen, Gordon Penguilly and Conni Massing, as well as the work of heralded newcomers like Meg Braem. Each play is a winner from the Alberta Playwriting Competition, the audience will vote on their favourite excerpts and those plays will move on to the next round. And while you make your decision you can enjoy food, wine, catching up with friends and community and – of course – entering the APN theatre and wine raffle. Prizes include a bottle of wine paired with theatre tickets and a grand prize of 10 bottles of wine, 2 tickets to the Citadel and $30 to Lock Stock Coffee.

Tickets and more event details can be found on our website or our Facebook event page.
