When: March 11 & 12, 2016
Where: La Cite Francophone (L’Unitheatre) 8627 rue Marie-Anne Gaboury (91 St)
Once again the Edmonton Region of the Alberta Drama Festival Association (ADFA) will be presenting its Stage Struck! One Act Play Festival, March 11 & 12, 2016. The festival has 6 plays lined up for this year and, as has been the case in previous years, all of the plays are original works by local playwrights. The festival will see three new works this year. The festival has three sessions, with a short public adjudication after each play by the Festival’s Adjudicator.
Following the third session on Saturday night, awards will be presented for Outstanding Production, Performers (2), Director, and New Work. Alberta Playwrights’ Network will present the APN award for Outstanding New Work. Each group will also receive a private adjudication. The adjudicator for this year’s festival is award winning, director, producer, dramaturg, educator, and the Artistic Director of Edmonton’s Theatre Yes, Heather Inglis. The winning production from Stage Struck! will compete in the ADFA Provincial Festival May 27 & 28 in Fort McMurray. The 2016 Festival is brought to you with the assistance of: Alberta Playwright’s Network, Alberta Foundation for the Arts and VUE Weekly.
