Sessional Job Posting – Theatre Program – AMBROSE UNIVERSITY
The Theatre Program in the Faculty of Arts & Science is seeking sessional instructors for the 2016-17 academic year for: Stage Combat I and II, Rehearsal and Performance I (Classical Play) and II (Contemporary Play).
Ambrose University Theatre offers a rigorous conservatory-style Diploma in Acting. The Acting Diploma is a demanding 2-year training pedagogy for a small, select cohort of students. It is designed to train actors for a professional career. Sessional instructors are expected to collaborate throughout the year with the Director of Theatre and other instructors to achieve instructional aims and maximize student progress.
Term: Fall 2016 and Winter 2017
Rate: $1365 per credit hour
Course Details:
- Stage Combat should introduce students to the basics of unarmed and armed combat techniques, safety principals, and choreographic storytelling.
- Rehearsal and Performance will involve the direction of a fully produced play utilizing student actors. Instructors will also be expected to teach students the fundamental processes of professional theatrical rehearsals and production.
Qualifications: Terminal Degrees in a relevant field are strongly preferred (MFA), with other relevant certification (i.e. Fight Director’s Canada). BA/BFA or MA will be considered if candidate has a strong pedigree of professional performance credits. We are looking for candidates who currently maintain professional practice in their discipline.
