Calling all sewing enthusiasts with a passion for period costume! Fort Edmonton Park is hiring!
We are looking for 2 experienced Sewists to assist with costuming for our busy summer season. Our contract Sewists, under the direction of the Costuming Coordinator will work closely with the Costuming Assistant and department Volunteers to alter and maintain costumes, build stock costume pieces and assist with the moving of historical costumes between locations.

Qualifications for this position include:
- Completion or enrollment in a sewing-related program or, equivalent experience
- Good hand and machine-sewing skills
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
- Experience in completing alterations
Excellent time-management and organizational skills as well as the ability to maintain an efficient working pace will be essential in coping with the demands of this seasonal role. Experience working with period costumes is not essential but will be considered a definite asset.
Hours of work: Up to 35 hours p/w, Monday to Friday (incl. occasional Saturdays)
Rate of pay: $15 per hour
Contract duration: Contract lengths will vary in length from 8 – 16 weeks, starting as early as March 7 (or as late as April 4) and finishing as early as May 27.
