“We Go Together” – Opera NUOVA Uses Indiegogo to Raise Funds for their Grease! Sing-A-Long EventGrease is the Word! Opera NUOVA jumps feet first into the crowdfunding worlds, raising funds for their innovative, live Grease! Sing A-Long event on April 30, 2016. As Vince Fontaine says “It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, it’s what you do with your dancin’ shoes.”
Opera NUOVA has turned to Indiegogo to raise funds for this performance. Using Indiegogo has allowed Opera NUOVA to offer new and exciting perks to our long time patrons as well as our new audiences. These perks allow supporters to purchase discounted tickets, or invest in a 1950’s experience, with costumes, hair dos, or meals. The NUOVA Festival is even offering the chance for some of Canada’s best emerging artists to perform a concert in your house. All these perks come together as a unique campaign that brings together NUOVA’s patrons with performers!
Over 17 years Opera NUOVA has shared professional opera and musical theatre performances in celebrated venues across the City of Edmonton, including Our Town, Fiddler on the Roof, Trouble in Tahiti, Cosi fan tutte and Rusalka. Additionally, Opera NUOVA presents the NUOVA Opera and Music Theatre Festival, Canada’s largest opera and music theatre festival.
Last year, Opera NUOVA ventured into new territory by presenting Sing Along Phantom of the Opera, a fun and exciting evening of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s beloved musical accompanied by a silent auction and masquerade. Grease! Sing A-Long continues on that success with one of the world’s most beloved movie musicals, with lyrics projected above the performers, a professional style vocal warm-up, and all the dance moves you’ll need to relive “those summer nights!” A silent auction, photo booth and more will accompany all the Greased Lightnin’!
