The Citadel Theatre, one of Canada’s largest and busiest professional, not-for-profit theatre companies and facilities, has an opening for a full-time ARTISTIC DIRECTOR.
After 17 years at the creative helm of Edmonton’s Citadel Theatre, Artistic Director Bob Baker is stepping down. Now, the Citadel Theatre is searching for its next Artistic Director.
Currently in its 50th season, the Citadel Theatre is one of North America’s largest not-for-profit theatres and is a veritable Edmonton institution operating an iconic facility in the heart of the City’s arts district. In addition to producing a robust and impactful theatre season each year, the Citadel Theatre operates the Academy at the Citadel, which encompasses the Citadel/Banff Centre Professional Theatre Program, a Play Development program, a Young Companies program, and the Foote Theatre School.
The Artistic Director is responsible for the artistic stewardship of the Citadel Theatre, working closely and collaboratively with the Executive Director to achieve the Citadel Theatre’s strategic goals through an inspiring and compelling artistic vision.
The successful candidate is a tenacious leader in the face of an ever-changing and increasingly challenging landscape. Aspirational and inspirational, this person will have a proven track record of success and will have a strong artistic vision to lead the Citadel into the future.
