Auditions (Alberta): The 39 Steps – Dewdney Players Group Theatre

Dewdney Players Group TheatreSeeking Actors and Backstage Crew for The 39 Steps – a comedy set in the United Kingdom in 1935

Venue: The Aldersyde Community Hall

Date: Thursday,  January 14

Time: 7:00pm – 9:00pm      

Show Dates:  May 12, 13, & 14; May 19, 20, & 21; May 26, 27, & 28        

Director: Tracy Wyman        

Details:

  • In order to be considered for a part, it is vital that you are available for all show dates as well as two to three rehearsals per week, usually on Monday and Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
  • Auditions will include a cold read.
  • The cast members “Other 1” and “Other 2” play many, many roles. The script’s notes mention “over 150 zany characters”. They range from music hall compere and performer to policemen, salesmen, milkmen, Scottish subsistence farmers, hoteliers…
  • Although we say “policemen etc., it’s quite possible that we could stage the play with one male and one female “other”.
  • We may be casting for one act plays also. Details have not yet been finalized. Please contact us if you would like more information. 

We also welcome those interested in backstage work – scenery and set construction and decoration, costume making, props acquisition, sound and light crew, general help…
