Artists’ Collective Theatre presents The Diary of Anne Frank : Auditions
Artists’ Collective Theatre will be holding auditions for their upcoming production of The Diary of Anne Frank.
The play gives an evocative retelling of the memoirs of a young Jewish girl forced to hide for nearly two years to escape Nazi oppression during World War 2. Anne Frank, her mother, father, and sister, joined by the Van Daan family, hide in the secret annex space above her father’s office in Amsterdam as the Nazis deport the Jews of Holland to their deaths. In this annex, Anne comes of age: laughs, plays, cries, and falls in love for the first time. In spite of her circumstances and the horrors that surround her every day, Anne’s spirit transcends as she voices her faith, “in spite of everything…people are truly good at heart.”
