Inside Out Theatre is Looking for Board Members!

Inside Out Theatre is Calgary’s mixed ability theatre company. We offer theatre classes to adults with disabilities that foster a love of theatre, the joy of community, and the rewards of self-confidence. We also create original theatre productions that put artists with disabilities in the spotlight and celebrate their valuable place at the cultural table. For more than 25 years Inside Out has been utilizing the dramatic arts to contribute to a community in which our participants enjoy a high quality of life and are recognized as respected performers by their peers and audiences.

Position Description:
Our Board of Directors give generously of their time and talents to provide governance and strategic leadership. They meet approximately 6 times per year in addition to sitting on at least one Board committee. Board terms are 1 year (renewable without limitation).

Board members oversee the company’s operations to ensure our mandate is being fulfilled, that we are fiscally responsible, and that we are seeking reasonable opportunities for growth. They also provide counsel on a variety of matters, such as artistic programming, management, communications, and fund development. They are an invaluable part of our team. Ideally, our board members would have expertise in at least one of the following: fundraising, accounting and financial management, legal, marketing/communications, and/or graphic/web design.

We are looking for individuals of all abilities who may already have some Board experience and are comfortable with taking an Executive role, if needed.
