What’s On (Edmonton) – A Celebration of Art and Politics

GRAVITY to unite theatre, dance, and spoken word artists in a one-night only celebration of all things political!

On October 14th, just five days before the federal election, some of Edmonton’s best theatre, dance and spoken word artists will join in a one-night only celebration of all things political. The event, being held at the Metro Cinema, will see performances on topics ranging from the tarsands and refugees to performances on the Federal Election itself.

Gravity will involve over 20 different artists and is the joint creation of Megan and Beth Dart, from Catch the Keys Productions, Sheiny Satanove, from Punctuate Theatre, Heather Inglis, from Theatre Yes and Mike Hudema, from Greenpeace Canada.

Who: Rapid Fire Theatre, Ahmed Knowmadic, Shiva Kiaras, Aditi Gupta and Ahlam Sadik, Mile Zero Dance, Marty Chan, the Folk Lordz, Mump from Mump and Smoot, Good Women Dance, the Secret Burlesque Society, and Kristine Nutting among others.

What: GRAVITY: a cabaret celebration of all things arts and politics.

When: Wednesday, October 14th, 7:00 pm.

Where: Metro Cinema, 8712 109 street NW, Edmonton, Alberta.
