Synopsis: Bernard is one lucky 60s bachelor. He is engaged to three beautiful air hostesses who will never meet thanks to his relationship bible – the airline timetable. But, when a speedy new Boeing and a storm cause the women to have simultaneous layovers, Bernard’s unwitting friend, Robert, gets caught up in his own lies and futile attempts to conceal Bernard’s polygamy. There’s a 100% chance of turbulence in Bernard’s crowded Parisian loft.

Characters:

Bernard, male, late 20s to 40s: an architect and perpetual bachelor
Bertha, female, 30s to 60s: Bernard’s housekeeper
Robert, male, late 20s to 40s: Bernard’s old school chum
Gabriella, female, 20s to 30s: the Italian fiancée and air hostess
Gloria, female, 20s to 30s: the American fiancée and air hostess
Gretchen, female, 20s to 30s: the German fiancée and air hostess
*Age ranges are approximate and somewhat flexible.

Audition Requirements: You will be auditioning in a group of 4-6 actors in a half hour slot. Please be prepared to introduce yourself with an amusing anecdote. The rest of the audition will consist of cold reads from the script. Please familiarize yourself with the script before auditioning.

Rehearsals will begin end of October. Rehearsals will be scheduled around actor availability whenever possible. Please bring potential conflict dates to the audition.

• Copies of the script are available for reading at Walterdale Theatre. Contact the theatre administrator at walterph@telus.net to sign one out.
